The Power Cab can be used in several different ways.
1. The Power Cab as a complete 3 in 1 DCC system. Using all three sections of the Power Cab: The Command Station, The Track Power Booster, and The Cab. In this configuration you use the flat 6 wire cable, The Power Cab Panel (PCP) and 13.8v DC power supply.
2. The Power Cab as a regular Pro Cab Throttle. This requires an NCE command station and booster. Example: SB5 Smartbooster or a 5 amp PH-Pro system. You can use the flat or coiled cable. Plug in like a regular cab and away you go. The Power Cab Panel is no longer powered by the original power supply, it is plugged into the cab bus jack on the SB5/PH-Pro. The track is now powered from the booster or 5 amp system not the Power Cab panel. The Power Cab will still function as a Power Cab when used with the original panel and power supply.
3. The Power Cab as a wireless cab. This requires an SB5 Smartbooster or a 5 amp PH-Pro system. The Power Cab Panel is no longer powered by the original power supply. The track is now powered from the booster or 5 amp system not the Power Cab panel. It will still function as a Pro Cab(see above) or a Power Cab when used with the original panel and power supply. The Power Cab will need to be upgraded to wireless for $106+ return shipping by NCE. You will also need an RB02 Radio Base Station.
