The programming procedures are particular and can be a bit confusing. It took me a few times to get the hang of it myself.
1. In order to program, you must be able to control and send commands to the first channel's existing address. Test this first. Reset the board if needed.
2. Successful programming can be questionable if you are not using a system that is 100% compatible with the NMRA signal standard.
3. Most Digitrax, MRC, Bachmann, and CVP do not follow the NMRA signal standards. They use a hybrid version of ACCESSORY commands instead. Sometimes, a firmware update may help. Do not use
4. Do not use any software methods, including JMRI, for testing and programming. After the initial programming is successful, you can use software to control the Light-it.
5. The first channel's LED must be blinking to verify it is in programming mode and "listening" for new commands.
6. You only have 60 seconds to complete a programming sequence.
7. The LED for the first channel must STOP blinking at the end of the sequence to verify that the process is successful.
